Obituary: Larry King

Larry King 73, of Newport, departed this life Saturday, Nov. 21, 2020.

He was born Aug. 2, 1947, in Newport, Arkansas to John Wesley King and Ester (Rainey) Bearden.

He was a U.S. Army Veteran and a member of the Disabled American Veterans.

He worked for Armstrong Tire Company from 1969 to 1979; he then worked at the Postal Service from 1979 to 2001 when he retired after 22 years.

He was a member of many clubs and organizations including the Arkansas Sheriff’s Association, the Boys and Girls Club of America, and the Make a Wish Foundation, he attended the Church of Christ and enjoyed fishing, hunting, and spending time with family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife; Nelda King, his son; Shawn King, and his father; John Wesley King.

He is survived by his mother; Ester Bearden, one son; Greg King of Alexander, a brother; Lynn King of Mountain home, a sister; Debrah King of Houston and a grandson; Christopher King, and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside service will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, Nov. 27, 2020, at Walnut Grove Cemetery.
