Obituary: Barbara Jane Askue

Barbara Jane Askue was received into Glory on Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2020.

She was born on Feb. 2, 1951, in Battle Creek, Mich. to Charles and Marjorie Hutchings. Barbara’s family was very important to her, and she enjoyed spending time with each and every one of them. Barbara also loved going to church and hearing about Jesus. She was a homemaker and a member of the Cedar Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Cave City.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Nicky Askue; four brothers, Ron, Don, Tom, and Jim Hutchings; one sister, Carol Hutchings; and one grandson, William Burns.

Survivors include her husband, William Askue of the home; four sons, Vester Burns Jr. (Dwona) of Strawberry, Ricky Burns (Lachelle) of Powhatan, Tommy Burns (Vicki) of Blytheville, and Chuck Burns of Cave City; two daughters, Alisa Coles (Brian) of Cave City and Tracey Edgin (Kevin) of Batesville; daughter-in-law, Tracy Burns of Searcy; one sister, Sally Miller (Boyd) of Michigan; twenty grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, Dec. 5, 2020, at 1:00 p.m. at the Cedar Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Cave City with Tommy Burns officiating. Arrangements by Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City.
