Henry Willard 86, of Newport, departed this life Thursday, Nov. 26, 2020.
He was born Nov. 21, 1934, in Newport to Johnny Willard and Minnie Ethel (Pruitt) Willard.
Willard retired from the city of Newport. He was of the Baptist faith and attended Immanuel Baptist Church. He enjoyed watching westerns, gardening, and fishing. He supported Compassionate International and sponsored several children throughout their lives until they reached the age of eighteen.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Opal Willard; his brother, Burt Willard Sr.; and his sister, Minnie Herring.
He is survived by his niece, Amanda Holley of Rosie, his sisters; Ernestine Pettit of Thida, and Rachel Beard of Newport; and a host of nieces and nephews.
The service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2020, at the Dillinger Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be at Pennington Cemetery.
Visitation will be Tuesday, Dec. 1, 2020, from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Dillinger Funeral Home.
Brother Jim Cooper will officiate.
