Mickey Mallow Messenger, 79, of Batesville died peacefully at his home with his family on Dec. 1, 2020.
He was born July 30, 1941, in Denton County, Texas to Thomas Lloyd and Zelma Lee (Denison) Messenger.
Mickey served as a member of the United States Army. He was a retired truck driver of many years and many miles. He enjoyed spending time with his family and his dog, Wendy.
Survivors include his wife, Judy (Dauchy) Messenger; two daughters, Shelley Garrett (Brad) and Lana Gregg (Shane), both of Desha; one brother, Ronnie Messenger of Paradise, Texas; seven grandchildren, Nick (Alicia) Garrett, Zach (Michelle) Garrett, Colton (Hannah) Garrett, Jacob (Abby) Hooper, Haley Hooper, Morgan (Victor) King, Presley Gregg, and eight great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and three brothers, Jackie, Scott, and Bill Messenger.
Pallbearers will be his grandchildren. Honorary pallbearer is his lifelong friend, Herbert Ellison.
Graveside services will be held Friday, Dec. 4, 2020, at Alderbrook Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. under the direction of Roller-Crouch Funeral Home of Batesville with James Wheeler officiating.
