A mother recently came to the Izard County Sheriff’s Department alleging inappropriate photos and videos had been sent to her 10-year-old daughter on a social media platform, according to Chief Deputy Sheriff Charley Melton.
The mother told authorities there was a video of a nude adult male taking a shower that was sent, and in messages received by the girl, the male asked if she wanted to see something “dirty,” Melton said in a release from the department.
Investigators identified the male as Ethan Hope (pictured), 28, of Oxford. After an interview with Hope, authorities said the suspect did not deny sending the photos and videos, but said he did not mean to send them to the 10-year-old, the release said.
Hope was arrested on Dec. 11 on a warrant charging him with two felony counts of sexual indecency with a child. His bond was set at $5,000 with a Dec. 23 court date in Izard County Circuit Court.
