Pharmacists and nurses at White River Medical Center began the process of vaccinating front line healthcare workers with a successfully controlled vaccination clinic Wednesday.
The full clinic began Thursday and continues until the initial shipment is used.
These first vaccines are being administered to employees providing direct patient care and at the highest risk of contracting COVID-19.
This marks a significant milestone in the fight against the virus.
To date, 293 employees have been vaccinated. This number represents hospital and clinic frontline healthcare workers. Vaccinations are ongoing at White River Medical Center and Stone County Medical Center.
