Mountain View senior high teams win a pair of non-conference games at Walnut Ridge Tuesday night

The Mountain View senior high teams looked strong Tuesday night winning a pair of non-conference games at Walnut Ridge.
In the opener, the Mountain View Lady Yellowjackets were dominant jumping out to an early 29-6 lead at the end of the first quarter and cruised to a 69-28 victory over the Walnut Ridge Lady Bobcats.
Josie Storey and Chaelann Vickers led the scoring with 14 points apiece, while Kennedy Holland and Aubrey Isbell each added 12 points, and Rylee Shipman seven points.
Walnut Ridge was lead by Bailey Augustine who has 11 points.
The Lady Yellowjackets won their sixth game in a row improving to 6-2 on the season, while the Lady Bobcats dropped to 5-5.
In the finale, Brayden Scribner scored 19 points to lead the Mountain View Yellowjackets to 70-58 victory over the Walnut Ridge Bobcats.
The Yellowjackets built a 19 point fourth-quarter lead, but the Bobcats fought their way back cutting the Mountain View lead to seven with two minutes to play.
The Yellowjackets would withstand the rally hitting 5-6 late free throws for the win.
In addition to Scribner’s 19 points, Beck Morrow added 11 points and seven assists, Elijah Carlton 10 points, Bryce Baird had nine points, Kaedn Henderson with seven points, Riley McCarroll earned six points, and Jayden Scroggins scored five points.
Jayden Hollister led Walnut Ridge with 22 points, Ty Flippo added 20 points, and Will Coker 11 points.
Mountain View improved to 4-5 overall on the season and Walnut Ridge dropped to 6-4.
