Obituary: Harvey Hudspeth

Harvey Hudspeth, 88 formerly of Jonesboro passed away at his home in Evening Shade, Arkansas on Thursday, Jan. 7, 2021.

He was born on April 13, 1932, in Mountain View, Arkansas to Claude and Sinda Lou Martin Hudspeth.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Gladys Hudspeth; an infant daughter; an infant grandson; an infant great-grandson; three sisters, Bevie Reeves, Verda McMasters, and Cleffie (Tip) Copeland.

Survivors include his wife, Gean Hudspeth of the home; two sons, Harvey Hudspeth Jr. and wife Myra of Arkadelphia and Kenneth Hudspeth and wife Beverly of Harrison; one daughter, Nancy French and husband James of Evening Shade; seven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; two brothers, JM (Mill) Hudspeth of Lafe and Forrest Hudspeth of Ocala, Florida; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Graveside services will be Saturday, Jan. 9, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. at the Evening Shade Cemetery with Ludene Hudspeth officiating. Arrangements by Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City.

Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Heath Hudspeth, Andy French, Seth Hudspeth, Chris French, Matthew Hudspeth, and Caleb Hudspeth.

The honorary pallbearer is his granddaughter, Lydia Hoffman.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital or Arkansas Children’s Hospital.
