Venita Mae Smith, 94, passed away on Jan. 7, 2021.
She was born on May 2, 1926, in Wister, OK to John Gordon and Sarah Emadine Mcgee (McClain).
Venita was a sweet quiet loving godly woman that enjoyed quilting, going to church, word search puzzles, and most of all spending time with her family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother whose memory will be cherished forever by her friends and family.
Venita is survived by her daughters, Jeri Bennett, Janet Hedden, Debbie Finley, and Patty Middleton; thirteen grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Curtis Smith; sons, Terry Lee Smith and John Edmond Leydecker; daughter, Jeannie Pipides; grandson, Jason Lane; three sisters, Edna Wyatt, Retha Mills, and Lois McGee; and 4 brothers, Richard, Leon, Eugene, and John D. McGee.
Pallbearers are Lee Harmon, Randall King, Tahkodah Harmon, Joshua Harmon, Jarrod Grider, and Theresa Briggs. Honorary Pallbearers will be Larry King and Larry Finley.
A visitation will be held at Willis Funeral Service on Saturday, Jan. 9, 2021, from 6-8 p.m.
The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 10, 2021, at the Finley Creek Baptist Church followed by a burial at the Finley Creek Cemetery with Brother Stephen Stevenson officiating.
