Friday night at Clinton High School, the Mountain View Lady Yellowjackets took over sole possession of the first place in the conference with a 56-39 victory over the Clinton Lady Yellowjackets.
Clinton jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead, but Mountain View would go on an 8-0 run to take lead and did not look back.
Mountain View pushed the lead to 21 in the second half and holding on to give Clinton their first loss in conference play.
Josie Storey and Chaelann Vickers each had 15 points and six rebounds, while Aubrey Isbell added 13 points, seven rebounds, and four steals, and Kennedy Holland added nine points.
Mountain View improved to 7-2 on the season and 6-0 in conference play, while Clinton dropped to 13-3 overall and 5-1 in conference play.
In the senior boys game, Clinton outscored Mountain View 42-16 in the second half to rally from a point halftime deficit to defeat Mountain View, 56-36.
Brayden Scribner led Mountain View with 11 points and six rebounds, Elijah Carlton added 10 points, and Jayden Scroggins added nine points.
Mountain View dropped to 4-6 overall and 2-4 in conference play, while Clinton improved to 10-3 overall and 5-1 in conference play.
