Calico Rock Waterworks has issued a boil water notice for a portion of the system west of State Highway 5.
The order was issued due to a waterline break.
The Arkansas Department of Health says under a boil order, impacted customers are advised that water may be unsafe for human consumption and should be boiled briskly for one minute for food preparation or drinking.
The notice will be lifted by the state health department when two sets of bacteriological samples indicate the water is free of bacterial contamination, and an adequate disinfectant level is established throughout the system.
