A Shirley man was hit and killed early Monday morning while crossing the roadway near his home.
The Arkansas State Police preliminary fatal crash summary state Deputy Martin of the Van Buren County Sheriff’s Department reported that Bobby Weaver, 64 was crossing The New Road, going to his residence when a westbound 2001 Saturn crested the hill and struck him.
Weaver was transported from the scene by air ambulance to UAMS in Little Rock where he later succumbed to his injuries.
The report noted the weather was clear and the roadway was dry at the time of the accident.
