Obituary: LaVerne Russell Clark

LaVerne Russell Clark, 79 of Batesville passed away Thursday, Jan. 21, 2021.

He was born March 3, 1941, in Belvidere, Illinois to Hiram Guy and Etta Emmaline (Leggett) Clark.

He was a meat cutter for Town and Country Supermarket in Batesville for several years and retired from ConAgra Foods in Batesville.  He was a member of Holden Christian Church in Holden, Missouri.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, John Pearson and Henry Clark, and two sisters, Ann Scott and Sarah Carson.

Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Connie Smith Clark of the home; one son, Scott Clark of Batesville; one daughter, Shanda Wood (Jimmy) of Charlotte; adopted daughter, Cindy Paarman of Cushman; one sister, Loretta Chapman of Nevada; four grandchildren, Brody Cark (Peyton), Makenna Clark, Kylee Wood, and Kloee Wood; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, Jan. 23, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. at the Finley Creek Cemetery near Sidney with Larry Sellers officiating.

Pallbearers will be Ronnie Love, Brandon Love, Brett Love, Jonathan Smith, Casey Shaw, and Brian Ivie.

Honorary pallbearers are Bob Townsley, Dr. Ron Bates, George Ramos, Larry Sellers, and Dennis Williams.

The family would like to thank the staff of Approved Home Health and Caring Hands Hospice for their excellent care.  Special thanks to Crystal Burns, Melanie Loggains, Cindy McClurg, Larry Sellers, and Bob Townsley.
