UPDATE, Jan. 26. 2021, 1:30 p.m. — Authorities report the subject, Cody Weathers, has apparently shaved his head and face.
UPDATE, Jan. 26, 2021, 11:35 a.m. — The Independence Sheriff’s Department is actively searching for Cody Weathers, 28 years of age. Weathers is driving a white 2016 Chevrolet Silverado with Arkansas tag 327 RTP. Weathers’ whereabouts are unknown at this time.
The department said in a statement online it has been searching for Weathers with the assistance of the Arkansas State Police and Arkansas Game and Fish. The Arkansas State Police is also assisting with the investigation.
The department said it believes this is an isolated incident.

Authorities also report the Arkansas State Police will apparently release more information on the Monday killing of an Independence County resident at some point today.
UPDATE, Jan. 26, 2021, 7 a.m. — No word from authorities as of yet this morning on the status of the investigation into the Monday murder of an Independence County resident. However, the location of the incident was apparently at a residence near the intersection of Lonoke Lane and Rounds Road.

Details are scarce, but White River Now has confirmed that authorities are working a murder scene in Independence County, and the suspect is not yet in custody.
The victim was apparently shot by a roommate at a residence near Lonoke Lane the intersection of Lonoke Lane and Rounds Road. Authorities report the suspect might be driving a white pick-up truck.
