Four Scots scored in double figures in the win

BATESVILLE, Ark. – Four Lyon College men’s basketball players scored in double figures on Tuesday night as the Scots defeated Bacone College for the second time this season by a score of 65-41. Dominique Loyd and Cole Anderson paced the Scots with a game-high 14 points each, while Chris Craig (pictured) and Faris Verlasevic added 11 points each. Craig just missed out on a double-double with nine rebounds.

The Scots improved to 7-4 with the win, while the Warriors fell to 2-14.

Lyon erased an early 3-2 deficit and jumped ahead, 9-3, following seven straight points by Loyd. From there, the Scots continued to increase their lead and took a 36-19 advantage with 1:25 left in the first half on a layup in transition by Hunter Daley. Bacone answered back with a bucket in its next possession but the Scots took a 38-21 lead at the half on a layup by Loyd just before the buzzer sounded.

The Scots took their largest lead of the game, 61-34, on a bucket by Anderson with 7:50 left in the second half as Lyon cruised the rest of the way to a 24-point victory.

The Scots will return to American Midwest Conference play for their next game as they travel to Williams Baptist on Thursday. Thursday’s game is scheduled to tip-off at 7:30 p.m.
