John Leon Long Sr. (Johnny), 66, of Oil Trough departed this life on Saturday, Feb. 6, 2021.
He was born Sept. 20, 1954, the son of Jessie Britt Long and Doris Mae (Rennard) Long.
John was a member of Maple Springs Baptist Church. He enjoyed watching Razorback’s and wrestling (which was his version of soap operas), but his all-time favorite thing to watch was his daughter when she played sports. He loved being outdoors camping and fishing but was just as content doing yard work. He liked bowling, listening to 70’s music, and enjoyed spending time with his church family. He had a special adoration for his dogs, Tank, and Snowball.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Ronald Long and Jerry Long; his sisters, Jackie Fortune and Sally Murrieta.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Lola (Blevins) Long; his sons, John Long Jr. (Loucinda) of Fenwick, West Virginia, Eric Long (Michael Williams) of Jeffersonville, Indiana; his daughter, Megan McCullough (Corey) of Melbourne; three brothers, Tommy Long (Paula) of Newport, Jimmy Long (Karen) of Pangburn, and Danny Long of Kennett; one sister, Margaret Shear (Dave) of Desha; six grandchildren, Conor McGee, John Long III, Ryan Long, Bayleigh Long, Sawyer McCullough, and Paelynn McCullough.
Service will be Friday, Feb. 12, 2021, at 10:00 at Maple Springs Baptist Church.
Visitation will be Thursday, Feb. 11, 2021, from 5:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. at Maple Springs Baptist Church.
