Independence County Election Commission meets Friday

news-background-orange-36

The Independence County Election Commission will meet Friday, Feb. 26, at 12 p.m. in the commission’s office on Third Street (behind the old Skinner’s Jewelry building).

Since the new census figures are out, the commission will be addressing redistricting. Population changes can cause changes in quorum court districts, city council wards, and more.

One other thing the commission will do is welcome a new member. That new member was recently selected by the Republican party to be a representative on the commission. Darrell Hays is leaving the commission, and Barbara Henson is taking his place.
