Jonesboro’s KAIT Region 8 News is reporting that the new medical marijuana dispensary in north Arkansas has been annexed into Hardy.
Construction on the Spring River Dispensary finished at the end of last year in Fulton County, near Hardy. Since then, the City of Hardy has annexed the land, leading to the potential of more sales tax revenue to Hardy and Fulton County.
“It’s just an added business to the city and of course it will generate more money than we had,” Hardy Mayor Ernie Rose told KAIT Region 8 News. “I feel like it will also, where it’s located up there on the north end of town will help us grow up in that direction.”
Hardy Assistant Police Chief Scott Rose says if the dispensary has any issues or trouble involving safety, they will have the necessary assistance
“Even though that’s just over the county line over into Fulton County, the Sharp County Sheriff’s Department would be the next closest agency who would have an officer,” Scott Rose to the station. “They’ve agreed to also if we do have any issues there to send a deputy with us.”
