Obituary: Anthony Carter

Anthony Utah Carter, 41, of Newport departed this life Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2021.  He was born Sept. 24, 1979, to Toney Carter and Monica Pierce.

He was a member of Campbell Station Baptist Church.

He served his community in many ways throughout the years.  He was a law enforcement officer and worked for Emergency Medical Services.  He could often be found inside playing his Play Station or spending time with his four-legged friend ”Zoey”.  Some of his favorite past times included being outdoors; he loved camping, hunting, and fishing.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Ralph and Bessie Carter and Fay and William Pierce, and stepfather, Terry Tackett.

He is survived by his mother, Monica Tackett of Newport; his father, Toney Carter and wife Michelle of Batesville; his son, Austin Carter of Newport; his daughter, Karaline Easter and husband Garrett of Newport; his brother, Travis Carter of Newport; his sister, Mercedes (RugRat) Mize and husband Cody of Batesville; his grandchild, Alexa Easter of Newport; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Ricky Morales, Carl Schlotzhauer, Josh Billings, Dallian Carter, Justin Carter, and Cody Mize.  Honorary Pallbearers include White River EMS, Independence County Sheriff’s Office, and Quincy White.

Visitation will be Thursday, Feb. 25, 2021, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Dillinger Funeral Home Chapel.

Service will be Friday, Feb. 26, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. at Campbell Station Baptist Church.
