A Mountain View man bonded out of jail Thursday afternoon after being arrested and charged with second-degree stalking.

The information in Stone County Circuit Court said the victim told police that William Earl Johnson, 55, has been allegedly following them for some time.

The court document said Johnson on many occasions has allegedly followed the victim, left pillows to the victim, and threatened another male that was in the victim’s vehicle.

The victim, who worked for a treatment center, apparently knew Johnson from the center as a resident and told police Johnson’s alleged behavior was disturbing.

According to Stone County Jail records, Johnson was arrested on Feb. 22 and bonded out out of jail on Thursday. His bond had been set at $10,000.

On Wednesday, the judge signed a no-contact order against Johnson. Johnson is not to have contact, in any manner, with the victim, or any member of her immediate family. If Johnson violates the order, he is to be immediately arrested and detained in jail.
