Mountain View Lady Yellowjackets are the Class 2-3A District Tournament Champions

On Saturday night at Mountain View High School, the Mountain View Lady Yellowjackets won the Class 2-3A District Tournament with a 49-21 victory over the Rose Bud Lady Ramblers.
Both teams got off to a slow start offensively, with Mountain View building an 8-0 lead late in the first quarter.
Rose Bud would hit two three-pointers in the last 30 seconds of the first quarter to cut that lead to 8-6.
Mountain View’s defense was strong limiting Rose Bud to eight points in the second and third quarters combined to take a 33-14 lead to the fourth quarter.
They secured the victory in the fourth quarter outscoring the Lady Ramblers 16-7 to earn the victory.
Mountain View was led by Josie Storey with 19 points, Aubrey Isbell had 13 points, Emry Johnson five points, and eight rebounds, and Chaelann Vickers added four points.
Rose Bud was led by Kyndal Rooks who had 12 points and Emily Smith added four points.
Mountain View was also presented with their Conference Championship trophy on Saturday after finishing their conference season with a perfect 14-0 record.
The Lady Yellowjackets 17-3 on the season will advance to the Regional tournament next week at Manila where they will be the number-one seed from the Class 2-3A conference.
They will play Osceola on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m.
Rose Bud will be the number-two seed and they will play Manila on Thursday at 4:00 p.m.
On Friday night the Lady Yellowjackets advanced to the finals with a 71-48 victory over Harding Academy.
Mountain View controlled the game throughout leading 15-5 after the first quarter and 36-20 at halftime.
Harding Academy would try to stay close in the third quarter but Mountain View proved too strong in the fourth quarter winning 71-48.
Senior Aubrey Isbell led with 23 points, five assists, and four steals, Josie Storey would have 22 points and nine rebounds, Chaelann Vickers and Emry Johnson had seven points each, while Kennedy Holland had nine assists.
Harding Academy was led by Callie Citty with 16 points, Kloey Fullerton earned 14 points, and McKenney Sheffield had 10 points.
