Obituary: Henry “Jeff” Jefferson Bauerlein

Jeff Bauerlein, 80 years old, passed away on Friday, Feb. 26, 2021, at his home in Timbo, Arkansas.

He was the loving husband of Shelby Bauerlein for 33 wonderful years of marriage.

Jeff was born on Sept. 28, 1940, in Bandera, Texas to Henry Reed and Earlene Jacobs Bauerlein.

As a boy, Jeff’s family moved to Timbo where he was raised and graduated from Timbo High School in 1958. Following high school, Jeff worked in the Textile Industry for 50 years before permanently moving home. For the past eleven years, Jeff owned and operated EZ Trac Trailers with his son, Mark.

Jeff was a member of the Big Springs Missionary Baptist Church and had served as a 32nd degree Mason and later as a Shriner.

He enjoyed mowing the lawn, riding his side-by-side with his dogs, Nellie and Ravon, and sitting on the front porch watching the animals. Jeff is fondly remembered for his tall tales and famous sayings: “Don’t bug me, baby”.

Jeff is survived by his wife, Shelby, sister, Evelyn (Junior) Treat, two sons, Mike (Melissa) Bauerlein and Mark (Robin) Bauerlein, eight grandchildren, Justin (Lauren) Bauerlein, Danielle (Ryan) Klaseus, Emily (Luke) Johnson, Sydney (Garrett) Mullins, Alex Bauerlein, April (Dustin) Durant, Amber (Jeremy) Helt, and Ashley Bauerlein. Jeff had five great-grandchildren Aiden Mullins, Jack Johnson, Lincoln Helt, Emmett Helt, and Hannah Durant.

Jeff is also survived by his stepchildren, Paulette (Brent) Nichols and Renee (Stacey) Avey, five step-grandchildren, Kristi (Luis) Manzanares, Amber (Nathan) Masterson, Chris (Kallie) Avey, Zach (Josey) Avey, Audrey Avey, and six step-grandchildren, Paisley Masterson, Adelle Masterson, Dane Avey, Brooks Avey, Christian Manzanares, and Israelle Manzanares.

Jeff is preceded in death by his father and mother, Henry Reed and Earlene Bauerlein, one brother, Alvin Bauerlein, two sisters, Dorothy Bauerlein and Leota Bauerlein, two sons, Jim (Sandy) Bauerlein and Jeff (Carol) Bauerlein, and two grandchildren, Callie Bauerlein and Mollie Bauerlein.

Funeral services for Jeff took place on Sunday, Feb. 28, 2021, 2:00 p.m. at Big Springs Missionary Baptist Church in Newnata, Arkansas with Brother Johnny Wayne Williams officiating. Interment will follow the service at Big Springs Cemetery in Newnata, Arkansas.

Pallbearers are Stacey Avey, Chris Avey, Zach Avey, Justin Bauerlein, Luke Johnson, and Garrett Mullins.

Roller Crouch Funeral Home in Mountain View, Arkansas is in charge of the arrangements.
