An east Batesville man has been arrested and charged in Independence County Circuit Court with trafficking of a controlled substance and delivery of methamphetamine.

The arrest and charges came after an alleged undercover purchase of meth from Victor Noe Fonseca-Huerta (pictured), 34, on Jan. 4, according to the court filing.

Authorities followed up on that purchase by obtaining a search warrant for Fonseca-Huerta’s Batesville residence on March 2.

Members of the 16th Judicial District Drug Task Force along with Batesville Police conducted a search which produced: three gallon-sized plastic bags containing meth, multiple smaller plastic bags containing meth, digital scales, packaging material for the meth when sold, and over $5,800 in U.S. currency, according to the court record.

Fonseca-Huerta has been charged with three drug-related felonies: delivery of meth, trafficking of a controlled substance (namely meth), and possession of drug paraphernalia.

A bond for Fonseca-Huerta was set at $50,000.
