Velma Adell Beaver Wood, of Pleasant Plains, passed away on Tuesday, March 2, 2021, in Little Rock, AR at the age of 83.
Velma was born on Oct. 15, 1937, in Roosevelt, AR to Theodore Roosevelt Beaver and Ina Naomi Meharg.
She loved playing games on her phone, especially Words. Her intelligence was really shown in everything she did. Most importantly, she loved spending time with her husband and even drove cross country with him. Velma was of Christian faith and was a member of Union Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Pleasant Plains, AR. She was a loving sister, daughter, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great-grandmother, aunt, and friend who will be missed dearly by those who cherished her.
Velma is preceded in death by both her parents; her husband, Carl Wood; brother, Carl Beaver; and sister, Clois Beaver Wilcox. She is survived by her son, Farrell Wood (Patti) of Bradenton, FL; daughter, Carla Ring (Troy) of Pleasant Plains, AR; grandchildren, Leah England, Eric Ring, Carli Wood, and Tristan Wood; great-grandchildren, Dustin Brashers, Dillan England, Devin England, Mason Ring, Shelby Ring, Jasey Ring, Jonathan Perez, and Averie Perez; and great-great-grandchildren, Carl Brashers, Aiden Brashers, Elisha Brashers, and Ella England.
Services are entrusted to Willis Funeral Service of Batesville, AR.
Honored to serve as pallbearers will be Dillan England, Dustin Brashers, Carli Wood, Eric Ring, Jerry Ray Lindsey, and Jason Lindsey. The honorary pallbearer is Tristan Collins Wood.
