Batesville woman dies from injuries sustained in early March vehicle accident

caution-tape-2020-20

A Batesville woman has died after suffering injuries in a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Main Street and Highway 167 in Pleasant Plains earlier this month.

Arkansas State Police (ASP) said the woman, Barbara Cooley, 77, was entering the intersection on March 1, 2021, as she was driving her 2015 Nissan and failed to yield to a 2010 Dodge.

The Dodge tried to stop, but struck Cooley’s Nissan on the driver’s side, the ASP report said. Cooley was taken to White River Medical Center for emergency treatment on the day of the accident.

The investigating officer who provided the wreck information, Cpl. Jeremy C. Hughes, said the weather was cloudy and the roadway dry at the time of the accident — just before 2 p.m.
