A Batesville man, driving his vehicle erratically and crossing the centerline multiple times on Highway 14, was pulled over by Stone County deputies on March 26, 2021, according to information from Stone County District Court.

The driver of the pickup was found to be Christopher W. Fitzpatrick (pictured below), 64. Fitzpatrick is a parolee and had a search waiver on file. Inside the vehicle, Deputies Masterson and Leonard found numerous baggies of what tested positive as meth, a set of digital scales, and a meth smoking pipe, according to the court info.

It was also learned that Fitzpatrick has previously been convicted of four or more felonies.

The court information also said Fitzpatrick has a history of failure to appear. Prosecutors are asking for a sentence enhancement if Fitzpatrick is convicted on the charges.

He was taken to jail with a judge placing Fitzpatrick on a $25,000 bond.
