Arkansas has reported a record increase in coronavirus vaccinations administered days after the state expanded its eligibility.
Thursday, the Department of Health reported 32,705 additional vaccine doses were administered. Nearly 1.2 million of the 1.7 million vaccine doses the state has received so far have been given.
Thursday’s increase was the biggest one-day jump since the state reported 28,958 additional vaccinations administered on March 25.
The increase follows Gov. Asa Hutchinson’s announcement on Tuesday that the state was opening up vaccine eligibility to everyone 16 and older. Hutchinson also lifted the state’s mask mandate that day.
