Amy M. Capers, 49, of Newport departed this life Friday, April 16, 2021, at White River Medical Center in Batesville.
She was born Sept. 16, 1971, in Newport, the daughter of Gus Jones and Rose Meloy.
Capers proudly served in the US Navy for two years; was a lifetime member of V.F.W and Eastern Star. She was a bus driver for Newport School District and was a “COUPON EXPERT”.
Capers enjoyed going fishing, but above all, she loved spending time with her family.
She is preceded in death by her father, Gus Jones.
Capers leaves behind her husband of 25 years, David Capers; two sons, Alexander Capers of the home and Romello Capers of South Carolina; one daughter, Talia S. Capers of the home; mother, Rose Meloy of Newport; sister, Holly Mullins and husband Shane; three grandchildren, Amelia Hardiman, Mia Hardiman, and Alexander Capers, Jr; and three best friends, Amy Evans, Faith Upsher, and Angie Burgess.
