Obituary: Carl Eugene (Buddy) Galloway

Carl Eugene (Buddy) Galloway Jr. The son of the late Carl Galloway Sr. and Betty (Pearce) Galloway, was born in Jonesboro, AR on Jan. 14, 1947, and passed away at his home in Floral, Arkansas surrounded by his family and friends on April 28, 2021, at the age of 74 years old.

Buddy loved sports of all kinds, he was an avid Razorback fan, played baseball for many years, and was a referee for 25 years. He was licensed by the Arkansas Official Association (AOA) and officiated basketball games all over the state of Arkansas. He and his wife, Kay were owners of Kay’s Donut Shop in Batesville for 25 years.

Buddy was preceded in death by his father, Carl Galloway Sr., his mother Betty Galloway, and a sister, Phyllis Schilly.

He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Kay Galloway; two sons, Shawn Galloway (Dana) and Jeremy Galloway (Carrie); two granddaughters, Megan McCain and Morgan Galloway; four step-children, Melinda Laster (Otto), Pam Dillard (Jimmy), Daryl Wood (Tammy), Danny Wood (Tessa); one brother, Bobby Galloway (Dean); and three sisters, Betty Carol Wilson (Larry), Becky Halcom (Jim), Melinda Melton (James); twelve step-grandchildren; one great-grandchild; as well as many relatives and friends.

Services are entrusted to Willis Funeral Service. A graveside visitation will be held at Egner Cemetery on Friday, April 30, 2021, at 9 AM with the funeral service to follow shortly after at 10 AM.
