Adaline “Toni” Joyce Barber, 79, of Floral, AR, passed away Saturday, May 8, 2021.

She was born Aug. 22, 1941, in Downers Grove, Illinois to Fred Haegele and Bessie Johnson Haegele.

She was a member of the Quail Valley Church of Christ.

Toni, as she was called by all who knew and loved her, was preceded in death by her loving husband, Gerald Barber; her parents, Fred and Bessie Haegele; her siblings, Richard (Dick) Haegele and Mike Haegele; one grandchild, Jessie Johnson; and one great-grandchild, Mark Barber.

She is survived by her sons, Jeff Barber (Tami) and Robert Barber (Dana); her daughters, Joyce Johnson and Patty Halcom; one brother, Jack Haegele (Margie); two sisters, Barbara Boosted and Pat Sutton; 9 grandchildren, Clayton Johnson, Carlee Gilpin, Steven Barber (Kristen), Eric Barber (Adriele), Jackson Barber (Madison), Lucas Barber (Mary), Dustin Taylor (Seva), Christian Eisenmenger, and Sarah Barber; 3 great-grandchildren, Clara Barber, Lawsyn Taylor, and Cami Eisenmenger; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Toni loved nothing more than spending time with her family, and they enjoyed gathering around her table for the best-fried chicken tenders ever, as well as to lovingly tease her about always burning the biscuits.  She had a wonderful sense of humor, which she retained even as her health declined, and she was kind, thoughtful, and compassionate, always there for friends and family in difficult times.  Toni enjoyed her vacations, so she could travel and take cruises and spend more time with her grandchildren.  She was also an avid Razorback fan, especially of the basketball and football teams, and always made sure to keep their schedules at hand.  She was employed by ConAgra Foods from March 12, 1973, until her retirement on Sept. 1, 2003, and she built many lasting friendships during this time.  Her family greatly respected her work ethic and deeply appreciated the example she was to them.

A graveside service, officiated by Brother Burl Young, will be held at Hutchinson Mountain Palestine Cemetery on Thursday, May 13, 2021, at 2:00 p.m.

The family would like to extend a very special thank you to Caring Hands Hospice, Approve Home Health, Bryant’s Pharmacy, White River Area Agency on Aging, and to Lena Herrington and Katelyn Wall.

In lieu of flowers, you may make donations to the Hutchinson Mountain Palestine Cemetery.  Donations may be mailed to 100 Ramsey Drive, Floral, AR, 72534.
