Richard ”Dick” Edwards, 86, of Melbourne passed away May 30, 2021.
He was born March 16, 1935, in Ranger, Texas to Homer R. Edwards and Florence (Parish) Edwards.
Richard was of the Baptist faith. For most of his life, he was a farmer, but he also worked construction and then later was a truck driver for Izard County. He was a handyman who enjoyed working around the house and in his yard as well as watching Westerns. Richard was a trader who attended the auction sales and loved to buy and sell livestock.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Leta Fern (Friend) Edwards of the home; one son, Richard D. ”Mickey” Edwards of Melbourne; one daughter, Judy Edwards of Springdale; three grandchildren, Tanner Armstrong, Trever Armstrong, and Trent Armstrong; and eight great-grandchildren, Austin, Audrey, Abby, Tristin, Hadley, McKenzie, Shelby, and Chase.
He is preceded in death by his parents; one son, Ronnie Doyle Edwards; three brothers, and two sisters.
Pallbearers will be his grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, June 5, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. at the Melbourne Cemetery with Ron Helm officiating under the direction of the Roller-Crouch Funeral Home of Batesville.
