Dale “Bear Jaw” Davis Smith, 65, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away Friday, June 4, 2021.
He was born March 4, 1956, in Little Rock, Arkansas to Enis Clyde Smith and Nancy Lee (Ford) Mitchell.
Dale was a member of First Baptist Church of Mt Pleasant; he loved Jesus and he loved his family deeply and their dog, Duke. He worked hard for his family and helped anyone who needed it. Dale also enjoyed hunting and fishing; working on race cars and twisting wrenches.
Survivors include his wife, Pamela Ann (Moser) Smith of the home; son, Jonathan Smith (Brandi) of Cushman; daughter, Jessica Smith of Mt Pleasant; four sisters, Christine Shaw (Ernest) of Mt Pleasant, Connie Clark of Batesville, Lanelle Love (Ronnie) of Mt Pleasant, and Louise Cook (Terry) of Needmore; and one grandchild, Wyatt Wade.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers-in-law, Lavern Clark and Danny Moser.
Pallbearers are Jonathan Smith, Wyatt Wade, Daniel Moser, Jamie Kelly, Jason Moser, Ernest White, Spec Howard, and Shane Howard. Honorary pallbearers will be the District 5 Highway Dept Employees and the family.
Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 8, 2021, at First Baptist Church of Mt Pleasant with Brother Jon Moore officiating. Burial will follow at Finley Creek Cemetery in Sage under the direction of Roller-Crouch Funeral Home of Batesville.
Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the church just before the service begins.
