Main Street Batesville is open, and downtown merchants are thankful for the support during the last year of uncertainties.

Now, they want to say “Thank you!” with the Main Street Grand Reopening, July 3, from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., presented by Centennial Bank.

Activities will include specials and promotions at various businesses, live entertainment, and the Batesville Bicentennial Celebration Car Show. The car show is presented by First Community Bank and coordinated by the River City Cruisers. Registration begins at 9 a.m. in front of Schwegman’s Office Supply. Registration is $10.

There will also be an inflatable water slip and slide available as part of the fun. The Main Street Farmers Market will be open from 8 a.m. until noon in the Citizens Bank Pocket Park. And Sweeney’s Men’s Grooming will be hosting a disc golf challenge on the courthouse lawn at 4 p.m.

There will also be a free concert in the Citizens Bank Pocket Park from 7:30 p.m. until 9:30 p.m. Performers will include Jordan Brock of Batesville and John Butler of Jonesboro. Everyone is encouraged to bring their lawn chairs.

Free parking will be available in the Grey’s Hospital Parking lot, behind the Independence County Library and across from Sleep Star Lite.

Other sponsors include FutureFuel, Imaginations Events, FNBC, Southern Bank, and Ozark Gateway Tourist Council.
