The Southside City Council will hold a note-burning ceremony at their next regular meeting to celebrate paying off the balance of the new Southside City Hall.

Arkansas’ newest city broke ground on the $675,000 facility in June of 2018, and Mayor Ray Bowman states the balance was paid off last month.

Bowman says having the debt retired will give the city the financial freedom to act quickly to new challenges as they are presented.

The public is invited to attend the ceremony and reception to follow on Aug. 9 at 6 p.m. at the city hall.
