Fred Lee Taylor, 66, of Newport departed this life on Tuesday, July 20, 2021. He was born Nov. 19, 1954, to Wonderful Sr. and Everalena (James) Taylor.
Fred Lee drove a school bus and was a custodian for the Newport School District for 30 years and was known by all the children as Mr. Freddy. After retiring from the school, he went back to work as an Environmental Service worker at Unity Health Harris Hospital for another five years. Fred loved his Ford F-150 pickup truck and was happiest when he had his wife Carrie riding beside him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Forrest Boyd, Wonderful Jr., Willie Taylor, Odell Taylor.
He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Carrie Boswell Taylor, his children, Fredrick (Stephanie) Taylor, Nyesha (Johnny Jr.) McDonald, Lori (Kevin) Dixon, Joshua (Ebony) Taylor, Jeremy (Erica) Calamese, Stacy (Renee) Murry, Michael (Nikeba) Murry; brothers, Jessie Boyd, Preston Taylor, Terry Taylor; sister, Naomi Boyd; seventeen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Service will be Monday, July 26, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. Visitation will be Sunday, July 25, 2021, from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. Interment will be at Odd Fellow Cemetery in Auvergne.
