Melvin Paul Neldon of Newport, Arkansas, departed this life on Saturday, July 24, 2021, at the age of 55. He was born Sept. 15, 1965, in Newport, Arkansas, the only son of Melvin Lee and Clara Jeanette (Morgan) Neldon.
Paul was a 1983 graduate of Newport High School. He was a people person and enjoyed going to Wal-Mart on the weekends just so he could help out and visit with everyone who came in. Paul spent time walking down the road at Auvergne, picking up cans and waving to people. He never met a stranger. He was an avid Razorback and Cowboys fan.
Paul was selfless and kind. He loved to help others and was known for his good heart and happy demeanor. Paul made his family and his many friends better people just by knowing him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin Lee and Clara Jeanette Neldon.
Paul is survived by one sister, Annette Dooley of Auvergne; three uncles, Cliff Morgan of Newport, Tommy Morgan of Tuckerman, and Joe Morgan of Tuckerman; one aunt, Juanita Muir of Weldon; special cousins, Allen Muir, April Dooley, Brent Dooley, and Teddy Bankster, all of Newport, and Karen McDonald of McCrory; many other cousins, family, and a lifetime of friends.
Friends may visit at the funeral home, Thursday, 6:00-8:00 p.m. Funeral services are 10:00 a.m. Friday at Jackson’s Newport Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. David Burgess officiating. Interment will follow in Sandhill Cemetery.
