Hershel F. King, 96, of Mountain View, Arkansas passed away on Monday, July 26, 2021, at home in Mountain View, Arkansas. Hershel was born on April 25, 1925, in Sapulpa, Oklahoma in a covered wagon to the late Henry and Ollie King. Hershel served his country as a veteran of the United States Air Force in World War II. Hershel married Peggy Canant on Dec. 17, 1946, and enjoyed their life together for 70 years. Hershel was a member of White Water Missionary Baptist Church and worked for Dover Elevator Company in Memphis, Tennessee. Hershel will be missed by all of his loving family and friends.
Hershel is survived by his nieces and nephews as well as many loving church family and friends.
Hershel was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Ollie King; his wife, Peggy King; and his only son, Duane Eddie King.
Visitation for Hershel will be Wednesday, July 28, 2021, from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at White Water Missionary Baptist Church in Mountain View, Arkansas. Funeral services will follow the visitation beginning at 2:00 p.m. with Brother Phil Sutton officiating. Hershel will be laid to rest next to his wife Peggy at the Historic Cemetery of Mountain View in Mountain View, Arkansas.
