William Raymond Porter of Higden, Arkansas passed away on Monday, Aug. 9, 2021. He was born Feb. 6, 1930, in Jerusalem, Arkansas to the late William M. Porter and Lula Mae Bolton Porter. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Rita Faye Porter; his brothers, Claude Porter and Loy Porter; sisters, Olga Porter, Nora Porter Walker, Ollie Porter Kincannon, Clovie Porter Harvell, and Louise Porter Eddy.
Raymond is survived by Amy Joyce Eddy Porter, his wife of 68 years.
Raymond was employed for 40 years with Coca-Cola Bottling Company in Little Rock. He enjoyed playing music, hunting, riding horses, motorcycles, working on old tractors, riding back roads on his ATV, and having family fish fries.
Raymond is also survived by his daughter Sharon Lee Porter Pearrow and husband Jon of Timbo, Arkansas; grandson, Kevin Atkinson of Timbo, Arkansas; granddaughter, Cindy Atkinson Williams and husband Brian and their children, Emilee Williams and Nicholas Turnage of Mayflower, Arkansas; two brothers, Jody Porter and Herman Porter of Jerusalem, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of Hospice Home Care for the care and support they provided to Raymond and his family.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
