Mark Brissey, a ninth-grader at Batesville High School and a pitcher/infielder for the Pioneers, will be heading to the University of Arkansas in 2025 to play college baseball for the Razorbacks.
That’s according to an article posted on WholeHogSports.com on Sunday.
The online sports site reports Brissey committed to Arkansas Sunday after considering Texas A & M.
One reason for the decision would be the 2022 commitment to the Razorbacks from fellow Pioneer teammate Gage Wood, the article says. Another would be the strength and dedication of the Razorbacks fan base.
“The thing I love about Arkansas so much is the fan base is so engaged,” Brissey told WholeHogSports. “That was really important to me. I also have a lot of friends that go there and are going to go there. It is going to be a really good feeling. I already know that.”
