John “JD” “Mac Daniels” Gerrald, 69, of Batesville, passed away Monday, Aug. 16, 2021.

He was born Aug. 13, 1952, in Fouke, Arkansas to Beryl ”Ace” Gerrald and Esther ”Doll” Howard Gerrald.

JD worked for several years in tractor parts sales for McDoniel Tractor; he was well known as a radio personality and ad sales representative for Crain Media’s 105.7 The Bull. He was always gracious and loved to talk; he liked to have fun and laugh often while picking on people. He loved to travel and cook on the grill; he also enjoyed sports and listening to music.

Survivors include his wife, Lisa Jackson Gerrald of the home; two sons, Sean Gerrald (Amy) and Michael Gerrald (Alicia) both of Texarkana; daughter, Deborah Gerrald of Texarkana; brother, JR Gerrald (Diane) of Edgemont; eight grandchildren, Kodi, Lena, Danny, Niko, Aaron, Blake, Skye, and Dathan Gerrald; a niece and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Monday, Aug. 23, 2021, at Roller-Crouch Funeral Home of Batesville with Caleb Harris and Larry Sellers officiating.

Memorials may be made in his honor to the Humane Society of Independence County, 5 Environmental Drive, Batesville, AR 72501.
