It’s Operation Christmas Child Shoebox season again.
A project of a Samaritan’s Purse, Operation Christmas Child delivers shoeboxes filled with toys, hygiene items, and school supplies to children in impoverished and war-torn areas around the world.
Since 1993, they have encouraged and facilitated individuals and groups to pack these simple gifts, and as a result, more than 188 million children in over 170 countries have received boxes of love.
This year, there will be a special Project Leader Workshop held for anyone interested in learning how to pack a shoebox or how to lead a church or civic group in this worthwhile project.
The workshop will be Saturday morning, Sept. 11, at 10 a.m. in the West Annex of First Baptist Church on Main Street in Batesville.
To hear how these simple gifts are making an impact around the world, learn how to pack a shoebox well, and even receive promotional materials and resources, everyone is welcome to attend this Project Leader Workshop.
