Obituary: Eugene Edward Greenfield

Eugene Edward Greenfield, 92, of Batesville passed away Sept. 26, 2021. He was the husband of Ruby (Duncan) Greenfield, with whom he shared 75 years of marriage.

Born in Batesville on August 8, 1929, he was the son of Eugene and Ella (Thomas) Greenfield.

He was employed at AR Lime Company (Limedale) for 30 years and retired in 1996. He enjoyed sharing his time and love with his grandchildren and loved going hunting with his coon dog, Maggie.

Survivors include his wife, Ruby (Duncan) Greenfield of the home; his children, Nancy Wren (Glen) of Cave City, Joyce Dennis (Randy) of Little Rock, Peggy McSpadden (Ronnie) of Cushman, and Tony Greenfield (Denice) of Batesville; a daughter-in-law, Deborah Buchanan of Southside; two brothers, George Greenfield (Dorothy) of Springfield, Missouri, and J.R. Greenfield of Wichita, Kansas; nine grandchildren, Wendee Richard (Todd), Rodney Greenfield (JoAnn), Travis McSpadden (Bridget), Brian McSpadden, Ryan McSpadden, Matthew Greenfield (Natalie), Aaron Greenfield (Christina), Brittney Tucker (John), and Dana Sullivan (Jordan); 17 great-grandchildren, Kristen (Noah), Allison, Carter Wayne, Peter, Sawyer, Nikki Jo, Maggie, Macey, Karson, Zoie, Gabby, Saer, Alayna, Rylee, Cassie, Julie, and Justin; three great-great-grandchildren, Chayse, Corbin, and Elle; as well as his beloved dog, Sam.

He is preceded in death by his parents; one son, Wayne Greenfield; one granddaughter, Deanna Dowell; six sisters, and four brothers.

Pallbearers are Travis McSpadden, Brian McSpadden, Ryan McSpadden, Matthew Greenfield, Aaron Greenfield, and Rodney Greenfield. Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Brooke Miller and Gary Hendricks.

Funeral services will be Thursday, Sept. 30, 2021, at the Roller-Crouch Funeral Home in Batesville at 10:00 a.m. with Allen Brown officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Valley Cemetery.

Visitation will be Wednesday, September 29, 2021 from 5:00pm until 7:00pm.
