Janelle modeled the importance of bettering oneself by going back to college and gaining 70 hours above her master’s degree in Home Economics, Counseling, and Special Education. She was recognized as a consummate educator. She was the pathfinder for the children in the family to live an enriched life through education. Thank you Mom for giving us a passion for cooking, family meals, homemaking, family celebrations, and making others feel welcome. With Dad, you taught us that there was no darkness in God, only forgiveness, and grace. You became a world traveler with Melvin and were fond of telling stories of your travels. Mother, you will be sorely missed in the lives of those who knew you.
Graveside services for Janelle will be held on Saturday, Oct. 9, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. at Centuries Memorial Park in Shreveport, Louisiana with Rev. Mark Goins of First United Methodist Church in Bossier City, Louisiana.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to St. Labre Indian School, PO Box 216, Ashland, MT. 59003-9989.
