Independence County Sheriff Shawn Stephens said Friday that the Arkansas State Medical Examiners Office has released the cause of deaths of a couple found in Ramsey Slough, just past the White River bridge in Batesville, in May.

Sheriff Shawn Stephens said the deaths of Clifford Timbs, 50, and Pamela Brooks, 50, were ruled accidental drownings with underlying medical problems associated with each individual. Timbs and Brooks resided together.

The couple was found by a fisherman who came upon the bodies in the water close to their boat on May 23.
