Brad Purdy, a life-long resident of Batesville, passed peacefully on Oct. 9, 2021, at the age of 74.
He was born on Sept. 22, 1947, in Batesville to Robert “Bobby” E. Purdy and Peggy (Gamel) Purdy.
Brad was the former owner of the Ozark Trading Post and an avid Razorback fan. He enjoyed golfing, the outdoors, and loved being on the water. He loved spending time on Greers Ferry Lake and telling stories with his many friends at the VFW. His hobbies included working to restore old cars and tinkering in his garage.
Survivors include his brother, Steve Purdy (Trish) of Farmington; one niece, Claire Brisiel (Michael); one nephew, Jason Purdy (Marleah); and a great-niece and great-nephew, Maeve and Beau Brisiel.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a twin brother, Guy Thomas Purdy.
Graveside services will be Thursday, Oct. 14, 2021, at 10 a.m. at Oaklawn Cemetery with John High officiating.
Visitation is from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 13, 2021, at the Roller-Crouch Funeral Home in Batesville.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Arkansas Sheriff Youth Ranch, 100 St. Vincent Pl., Batesville, AR, 72501.
Brad will be missed by all and would enjoy these wise words by Winston Churchill – “I am ready to meet my maker. Whether my maker is prepared for the great ordeal of meeting me is another matter.”
