Velda Faye Sutton Luther, 86, of Mountain View, Arkansas, died Sunday, Oct. 10, 2021. She was born Jan. 3, 1935, in Bickles Cove, Stone County, and was the fourth of six children born to Andrew Clarence and Florence Martin Sutton. She was a member of the School Avenue Church of Christ in Mountain View.
Faye worked for Dr. Howard Monroe in Mountain View during the 1960s, and she worked for many years at the Bank of Mountain View before retiring in 1998.
She is survived by daughter Robin Tinkle of Mountain View; granddaughters, Kasey (Tinkle) Sims and husband Ladd of Mountain View, and Anna (Tinkle) Harlan and husband Brandon, of Onia, Arkansas; and great-grandchildren, Pvt. James Littlepage Sims, US Army Reserves, Laddie Sims II, and Whitney Marie Harlan. She is also survived by sisters, Vida (Sutton) Teague of Mountain View, and Loetta (Sutton) Williams of Dumas, Arkansas; brother Kenneth Sutton and wife Janice, of Mountain View; and sister-in-law Freddie Luther, of Mountain View, as well as many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Bob Luther; son-in-law Danny Tinkle; sisters Avice Bangs (Bill) and Oma Lea Mize (W. C.); brothers-in-law Dean Teague, Fred Williams, Letus Luther, Edwin Luther, and Joe Ray Luther; and sisters-in-law Evelyn Luther and Ava Nelle Luther.
Pallbearers are Ladd Sims, Pvt Littlepage Sims, Laddie Sims II, Brandon Harlan, Whitney Harlan, Randy Bangs, Mark Luther, Danny Lancaster, Rodney Luther, and Larry Sutton.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations are sent to Flatwoods Cemetery Fund, 802 Hwy 5, Mountain View, AR 72560
A graveside service will be Saturday morning Oct. 16, 11:00 a.m. at Flatwoods Cemetery.
At the request of the family, we ask that attendees wear masks and practice social distancing at the cemetery.
