Almarie Balentine was born Almarie Brown on April 16, 1952, in Arkansas to Price and Princella Brown who both preceded her in death, as well as her paternal grandparents Lonnie and Mable Brown and maternal grandparents Loving and Parlitha Bryant. Almarie a beautiful baby girl entered this world as 5th of 16 brothers and sisters. three siblings preceded her in death Freddie Lee (Wealthy) Brown, Sharon Brown, Mary Lou Gravely and 13 living Speedy (Silvia) Brown, Alprice (Fannie), Katie and LH Brown Lucky (Robin)Williams, Betty Brown and Johnny (Undra) Brown, Pricilla (Troy) Pruitt, Arnett (Kevin Culberson, Verlynn Coburn, Alphonso Brown, and Denise Brown.
Almarie Brown became Almarie “ Ralph” Balentine when she wed her husband Edward Lee Balentine on September 22 1969 who also preceded her in death, with this marriage she gained an additional family to include her Mother and Father in law Ernest and Elteaser Balentine also has gone on home before her and gained additional seven siblings Ernest (Bobby) Balentine, Sewonia (David) Reed, Gloria “GoGo” (Bryan) Butts, Pamela Balentine, Sherman Balentine and Tanja (Demetrius) Garrett.
She leaves to cherish her loving beautiful memory her devoted children: Vivian Shosan and her three surviving children Bryan (Joy), Marquis and Tyris Brown and one grandchild that preceded her in death Marris Brown; Wendy (James) Pharr and their four children Sharelle (Ryan) Wilson, Kauhdeeme Balentine, Whitney (Derrick) Jacobs, and Angelo Pharr Whitney (Derrick) Jacobs; Tiffany Balentine and Her four Children Danielle, Diontae, Donte and Deleasha Balentine; Kenyatta Balentine and her four children Kordrey, Alacia, Paige Balentine and Kendrick Lindsey; Edward Balentine Jr; Teshae Balentine and her three children Eric, Rico and Jamari Balentine and a host of great-grandchildren nieces nephews family and friends.
Almarie gave her life to Christ at an early age and continued serving the Lord and maintained her faith and trust in the “Most High” up to her very last breath. She became a devoted member of Third New Hope Baptist Church of Detroit, MI, and served her church faithfully for over 20 years. She retired from Motorcity Casino as a Sous Chef also after 20+ years of service to Lawrenceville, GA. Almarie enjoyed many things her favorites cooking and shopping for her family and friends. She was a strong, compassionate, kind-hearted, powerful, energetic, free-spirited, fearlessly independent woman and that is only half of her many attributes. One of her most endearing qualities was her ability to brighten up any room and see the good most any situation. Kids and people alike gravitated to her naturally This woman was truly a “QUEEN” who always had an encouraging and kind word she was loved by many. Her favorite saying was “give the LORD some of your time Everyday.”
Almarie fought a good fight with all that loved her, she went to be with her Heavenly Father the morning of November 7, 2021. She will be greatly missed.
Service will be at Dillinger Funeral Home chapel on Saturday, November 13, 2021, at 10:00 a.m.
Visitation will be Friday, November 12, 2021, from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m.
