Jo Ann Lassiter, 87, of Newport departed this life on Tuesday, November 23, 2021. She was born March 28, 1934, to Joe and Jessie (Majors) Birdsong.
Mrs. Lassiter was a member of the Cherokee Street Church of Christ. She retired from Southwestern Bell telephone with over twenty years of service. She had a love for cooking and cooked everything. She enjoyed watching Judge Judy. Her greatest pleasure in life was spending time with her grandchildren and traveling.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Clarence Lassiter; her brother Bob Birdsong; and her sister, Janet Birdsong.
She is survived by her son, Joey (Michelle) of Newport; her sister, Pat (Jack) Hitt of Little Rock; two grandchildren, Meghan Dunning and Joey Lassiter Jr.; and two great-grandchildren, Lily and John Isaac.
Graveside service will be at Crossroads Cemetery in Greers Ferry on Saturday, November 27, 2021, at 11:00 a.m.
Friends may visit at the funeral home Friday, November 26, 2021, from 5:00 – 7:00.
