Robbie Nell Snelgrove, 84 of Oil Trough passed away Sunday, December 5, 2021. She was born March 11, 1937 in Oil Trough, Arkansas to Deward and Dessie Webb Huckaba . She was a retired teacher and counselor with 35 years of service. She held a Bachelors Degree from Lyon College and a Masters Degree from Arkansas State University and taught at Oil Trough and Midland Schools. She was a member of Blackland Free Will Baptist Church at Oil Trough where she was the pianist for many years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Deward and Dessie Webb Huckaba Freeman; her stepfather, Nen Freeman and a daughter, Sylvia Snelgrove.
Survivors include her husband of 66 years, George Snelgrove of the home; one daughter, Tammy Meeks and husband Heath of Jonesboro; a grandson, Parker Meeks of Jonesboro; a special cousin, Joyce Crabtree; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be Thursday, December 9, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at the Blackland Free Will Baptist Church in Oil Trough with Bro. Stanley Vandergrift officiating. Burial will follow in the Maple Springs Cemetery with arrangements by Qualls Batesville Funeral Service.
Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the church.
Pallbearers will be Don Shaw, Gaylord Freeman, Mike Swaim, Alfred Sullivan, Johnny Raper and Fred Sifford.
The family would like to give special thanks to caregivers, Rosa Farmer and Wanda Peterson and to Lyndsey with Kindred Hospice.
