A fire that started shortly after 2 p.m. Monday destroyed a mobile home on Section Lane in Southside, according to Southside Fire Chief Jeremy Loggains.
Loggains said 11 Southside firefighters responded quickly, but the structure was already engulfed in flames by the time they arrived.
The chief said the cause of the fire is not known at this time, but he did note electrical power was turned off at the residence two days ago.
A reporter for Coast Media, William Vetter, was in the area and told White River Now’s Gary Bridgman nobody was at the home when the fire started.
Loggains said the mobile home was a total loss.
